19th November – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Friday may well be Multiplayer Matchmaking day, nice change from yesterday…

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – You might not get this in chasing the others. Best way to rack up kills is to jump into Gruntpocalypse, go to Corvette and get up to 120 kills in 10 mins!

Showtime – 5 assists in one game can be slightly tricky. If you’re prepared to die it’s a bit easier. Pinnacle or Asylum can be useful so that your team mates can see who you’re shooting and jump in to take them out as well. Perhaps tell the people you’re playing with and you can team up with someone to get 5 each during a match. Multi Team can work well – in Slayer just aim for big gun battles and you’ll usually pick up one, or in Rocket Race drive whilst someone else is shooting people stranded on the ground.

Credits for Completion – 8 games, pfft. If you want to do this really quickly, Infection often goes in 3-5 mins, so you’ll be able to do the challenge in about 30 mins!

Close Talking – Close Quarters is considered to be melee, assassination, Hammer, Sword or Shotgun kills. So Countdown and Reflection are good for the Sword, Asylum for the Shotgun, and any of them for melees.

Don’t forget to vote in the currently open poll, I’m really interested seeing where you fabulous readers are from. And also thanks to the commenters over the last few days, there have been some great tips and chat coming in the last few commentaries.

Which mode is this rocket race in? I’ve heard you mention it before but have never played it. It sounds interesting as I love being driver.

It’s available in Multi Team Battle. Basically 6 teams of 2 people race around on Mongooses trying to be the first to go through 15 checkpoints across a map. The person on the back who isn’t driving can fire infinite rockets (still a clip of 2), to make the opponents bounce, but you can only kill people when they’re not actually on the Mongoose. So you’re not likely to get many kills at all. It is fun though.

For Showtime, I believe driving assists count. If so, Big Team’s the way to go. If you can get an objective type that might be good. I like being on Spire and having the Falcon. I rack up a lot of assists that way. Or Hemmorrhage in a ‘Hog.

For something like this either be the first guy to the fight and mele their shields off, or follow behind an ally and light them up with plasma pistol fire. Either one rips shields off in a jiffy for an easy assist. If you’re not good with the charged shot use regular fire. It is far more effective than most people give it credit for. It is one of my favorite weapons.

I find that another way for easy assists is to grab a sniper and shoot their bodies…no headshots. This takes down their shield completely. I do this in multi-team and I watch for someone who is running towards another enemy while my teammate covers my back so I don’t get assassinated. You can essentially get 5 assists with 1 clip.

I like the different ways of getting them guys. It definitely looks like pairing up is the way to go.

And I’m a fan of the Plasma Pistol too. In Legendary that and the DMR were my staple weapons for taking out elites.
