8th December – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Some very easy challenges today, with a good return on investment too!

Gunslinger – Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1250 cR

Half of yesterday’s kills, only 250 credits less. Nice. As I said yesterday, multi team’s a good way to go for this, especially the objective based. But if you’re using a different game type for the other challenges you’ll probably get very close just in those.

One Spartan Army – Kill 250 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 2500 cR

You get about 100 enemies in Score Attack, 120 in Gruntpocalypse, and between 70 and 100 for a normal Firefight (particularly Rocketfight). So it’s up to you on the best combination. I’ll probably do Rocketfight/Matchmaking type games until I get to within 1 game of Gruntpocalypse or Score Attack worth of the total then switch to them. You’ve heard me say it before, but play them in Corvette so it’s easy to predict where enemies will appear and hunt them down quickly. I played Score Attack in Beachhead yesterday and finished it with about 18 seconds and 1 life left.

Double Double – Earn 2 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking – 1200 cR

Double Kills are fairly easy to pick up. Multi Team will usually see you get 3 or 4, as you naturally get more people, closer together. Grenades and Heavy Weapons are your friend here. I’m going to stick with Team SWAT. If you’re good at headshot you’ll pick up a double kill or two during a match, depending on the map and opposition – Sword Base is good for it if you can hold the top of the green lift.

Oops! All Kills – Earn 25 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1200 cR

Again the Multi Team Battles are excellent for multi kills. These will stack, so an Overkill (4 people) counts as 3 multikills. The objective variants are helpful because you can aim for people who are going for the objective (ie in the hill in Crazy King) where a natural firefight usually opens up. Again, I’ll play Team SWAT as I like the game type and know it can lead to a number of multikills.

So 6300 credits for your trouble, probably 60-90 minutes of play time. That’s not bad at all!

25 multikills for only 1200cR? your gonnq have to play probably 8-10 games just to get that challenge, thats way harder than the weekly for 1/4 of the credits…this isnt a typo?

    • xXMaster SoulXx says:

Yeah i honestly was thinking it could be a WEEKLY CHALLENGE too

    • Steve says:

I agree, too few cR for how long/difficult of a challenge this is, especially compared to just killing 75 people being worth a mere 50 more. And think that a weekly of 100-150 multikills might be interesting/challenging and worth a good chuck of cR.

I found the multi kills one pretty tricky (didnt get many finished anyway because we were out for the evening) but SWAT is a great place to get them, as is Elite Slayer provided that there’s not too many armour lockers…

Surprised at the low number of credits for it, but I guess that the challenge planners are still settling into balancing the challenges.

I played from about 7pm to 10:30 and ended up with 15 multi kills…i played just random stuff from DLC, SWAT, and TEAM SLAYER….i guess if i had all day i could have got it!…but there is a thing called a “Job”

      • bungiesgirl says:

yep, stupid ‘Jobs’ get in the way of all my fun 😦

That has to be my only grumble about some of the challenges, they are tricky to fit in to a game time slot every day. I usually pop on here when twitter buzzes my phone & decide how realistic my chances are of getting them in… work hate me for procrastinating every day around 11, but hey, I’m happy!
