11th December – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

9000 credits, and 5k on just one challenge! That’s well worth doing, especially as it’s better than the weekly…

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 2000 cR

You should hit this between the Firefight and Campaign missions, so you’ll do it really easily I reckon.

Covenant-cide – Kill 90 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

There are 100 enemies in Score Attack on Corvette, which you can get through in about 10 minutes. If you’re going for the final challenge too you might need to play a couple of games, but I still think this is the best way to do it.

Mostly at Night – Complete Nightfall on Legendary without dying – 5000 cR

I’ve written a fuller post to follow this one as I have a lot to say on it. My main message – if you’re doing this on co-op and die then be a good person in the world and stay in the game to help get other people through without dying.

That Pink Mist – Kill 70 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

The Needler takes about half a clip to Supercombine in any enemy (which you know happens because of the medal you get for it), whereas the Needle Rifle takes three shots to an unshielded enemy. In Score Attack some of the Jackals on the last round have Needle Rifles, so you can grab a Needler from the Grunts on wave 1 and use it on them, then use the Rifle on the Brutes (best way to kill them btw) and Skirmishers. Be careful of a ‘Unicorn’ shot – a headshot with a Needle Rifle, as that won’t count. Three shots to the body is the way to go.

Nice bonuses today. I wonder what tomorrow has in store for us?

  1. Alex says:

I’d hit 3 of them on Gruntpocalypse, probably in 3 or so games. Considering commendation cR and game completion cR, you’d probably get around 7k cR for about 30 minutes worth of play.

As for the campaign challenge, if you can get a checkpoint whilst driving towards the gate glitch in forky on Nightfall, you could just save and quit and reload. You’d probably get through Nightfall in about 10 minutes, and it might take a few tries to reload the checkpoint to actually get through the gate, but it’d save loads of time.

I’ve kinda got myself addicted to solving challenges. 😛
