26th December – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

No special challenges again, but plenty of easy ones for you to work towards the next rank.

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 150 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1500 cR

You probably won’t get all these kills in the other challenges, but you can get close to it with them, so to finish off either jump in a Score Attack/Gruntpocalypse match or the end of Winter Contingency. Or normal Firefight Matchmaking if you need to wrap up the weekly challenge.

A Great Friend – Earn 15 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000 cR

An assist is when you do 40% or more damage to an opponent and someone else kills them within 4 seconds. There are various ways to do this, one of the best is to team up with someone and work on taking people out together, particularly in the Multi-Team Battle variants. An overcharged Plasma Pistol or Sniper Rifle shot to the body do more than 40% damage straight off, so you can always snipe from a camping position (ie the loft on Pinnacle) to help take people down.

Headshot Honcho – Kill 9 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1700 cR

Now that’s an improvement – last time we had this challenge in October it was 11 kills for 1100 credits! Anyway, Team SWAT all the way for this. It’s in one game, but in SWAT you should easily get this number of headshots.

Iron With Friends – Complete a Campaign mission co-op on Heroic or harder with the Iron Skull on – 1750 cR

I’ve written about this on two previous occasions. I still go with Winter Contingency, and taking it slowly. If you read those posts they have all my thoughts on the matter, however this is pretty easy and allows you to get lots of kills for the first challenge.

Is everyone recovering from their festivities yesterday? I’m having a chilled out one so far, but I think we’re going to hit Rock Band in a minute to work off some of the mountain of food we devoured!
