28th December – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Loads of credits, easy challenges, and some multiplayer goodness…

Fire When Ready – Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

This is over any number of games, so no stress to push for it at once. 30 should only take a couple of games though, Multi-Team Battle is particularly good for getting a high number of kills in any one game, especially the objective based Crazy King and Oddball variants.

One Spartan Army – Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Two rounds of Score Attack will get you this in about 2o mins – you get up to 100 enemies in a round, plus you get to use different weapons and take out different enemy types, so it’s great for upping your commendations at the same time.

T-Hug It Out – Kill 7 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1350 cR

Close Quarters is a kill using melee, assassination, Shotgun, Energy Sword and Hammer. Infection can be useful, as that’s all CQC, although 7 can be hard to get if you’re against a good team (although much easier as humans). For other modes, maps like Sword Base, Countdown and Reflection give you the Sword, Powerhouse sometimes the Hammer and Asylum the Shotgun. I tend to melee a lot anyway so this should come in one game. Team SWAT’s pretty good for it as melee can be one hit kills.

Aggressive Negotiations – Earn at least 17 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 3000 cR

Oddly, the only other time we’ve had this challenge it was paired with Fire When Ready and One Spartan Army then too. 17 in one game is fairly achievable in Team Slayer or Team SWAT, but remember what I said earlier about Crazy King or Oddball in Multi-Team? I think you’ll get there in one game if you can get either of those variants, remember to take it slow and don’t rush in to battles, pick people off after other players have shot them up. If you can lay your hands on the Sword or Hammer and use Active Camo you can go on a decent run.

And there you have it for the last Bank Holiday of 2010 (in the UK). What’s everyone doing for New Years? Any exciting X-Box related activities?

As far as exciting X-BOX related activities go, I’ve never reached the daily credit cap, so I’m going to try to do that this weekend. Is it 60,000 Cr starting and ending at 6am?

    • Spiderbaby says:

I think the cap starts and ends at midnight for whatever locale your Xbox settings are set to (so 12am PST for a PST setting) but I wouldn’t bet on it. It is different to the time that the daily challenges change though which I believe is global. I’ve only hit the daily credit cap once. I got worried and went out for a pint.

It used to be around 60,000 but a fixed limit seems silly given that higher ranks earn more credits.

I think I like Multi Team for T-Hug It Out…especially Crazy King where you can sneak up on people and it is just pure chaos. You might get killed a lot just going for melee kills, but it should be fairly easy to get the challenge.

This may need verifying but I just had an elite match and am sure I was getting kills for the t-hug it out challenge from supercombine explosions. I know I only pummeled 4 people (according to the medal tally) and I killed 3 with the sword (is that separate from pummel?) but I completed the challenge before at least two of the melee kills…

  4. Russ says:

the hardest lot in this for me was the 17 kills in one match.
i frequently run around using a pistol/pummel (run straight towards enemy, unload pistol clip to remove shield, then pummel to kill) technique, so the T-Hug It Out was incredibly easy 😛
