20th February – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Like we had on Wednesday, really easy challenges today but low credit return for the set…

One Spartan Army – Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1125 cR

You get 120 Grunts in Gruntpocalypse, so you can pick up the next two and then do any other mode really quickly to get the volume.

Killagruntjaro! – Earn 25 multikills in a Firefight Matchmaking game – 1500 cR

In Gruntpocalypse this is so easy. The Grunts come out of the doors/dropships/appear in groups of 5 or so, and you can easily shoot 3 or 4 of them straight away. Multikills do stack so an Overkill counts as 3 – double, triple and 4 kills. Therefore just play the game and take them out when you see them together.

A Simple Spree – Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Sprees cover a lot of options, 5 kills with Shotguns, Sniper Rifle, Plasma Grenade sticks, Swords… and so on. Frankly, 10 kills with anything gets you a spree, so just do that and you’ve got a very easy 1000 credits.

Killing Spree – Earn a Killing Spree in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

A Killing Spree in MP is killing 5 people without dying. Grifball and Rumble Pit are my two suggestions, since they’re both pretty easy to go on a run without dying, especially if you can play Juggernaut and then be the Juggernaut. Infection’s good when you’re human, Invasion’s good if the opposition just run at you and you work as a team. If you want to help your chances, try camping with Swords and Shotguns etc, in places like the side tunnels in Asylum, the top observation areas in Countdown, the top of the ramp on Reflection, so that you get people as they go through.

How easy? That easy. Obviously add any thoughts to the comments, but the good thing is this leaves a lot of time for other gaming today too.

And we have a new poll today – Which armour ability is your favourite? Again mention in the comments why…

A Simple Spree, is it 5 or 10 kills?

I remember it’s 5 kills in multiplayer matchmaking and 10 in Firefight.

Also, can you add the Hit Counter widget in your footer or anywhere, would be cool to see how many hits your page gets 🙂

Dissapointing challenges today for a dissapointing return in credits. The weekly challenge was cool but completed it on Monday :S

If Bungie are going to get lazy with their challenges they should at least let you complete them more than once, seeing as I like playing Halo all day and the challenges make it fun – but when you complete them all in 30 minutes its like, ok… back to grinding on Firefight *yawn…

I check this site daily, thanks – and keep up the good work 🙂

    • but then they wouldn’t be daily challenges and it would be pointless.

why not work towards some of your commendations instead? there is a lot to do in the game itself, the challenges aren’t everything.

      • Jorge says:

lol 2 games of firefight and a game of infection, 35minutes and all done!

…and yeh i see your point, perhaps if they made some heafty dailys it would be an alternative. Like 500kills in one day, that would be a challenge!

      • and then people would complain that the challenges are too hard. 😉

i do agree that they have been pretty simple lately but it is a nice break from some of the other ones, like flat tire. i do suspect that this is a way to try to entice those that haven’t finished the weekly to jump in and do so though. almost like a last hurrah, yanno?

      • Poseidon Si says:

I’m all for some easy ones now & again. What would be extra nice would be to have them directed at specific new modes and even the noble map pack, so that you’re rewarded for going outside of your comfort zone.

Similarly, for the weeklys, i was thinking it would be quite cool to have something like “get # kills with each vehicle in MP matchmaking”… although if that means people are hijacking their own team then that would suck!

  3. if you’re good, SWAT is a good killing spree game too.

at least the upside to this is you have time to work on the weekly if you haven’t gotten it yet since these shouldn’t take too long. shoot, 3 of them should help your weekly anyways since they’re FF challenges.

    • Poseidon Si says:

One thing that stuck me in big bro slayer (on btb i think) was getting a spree (not killing) for letting 5 ppl spawn on me. Worth remembering for “any spree”, when/if that comes around

Hey Matthew, on the vote for today are you wanting to know what armour ability we use in firefight or multiplayer matchmaking? I use the dropshield mostly in firefight, but i use armour lock mostly when fighting other people.

  5. Jakeylakes says:

Hi, I just bragging because I completed all these challenges today by 11.34am so basically it took me 34 minutes to complete all the daily challenges, I have also completed the weekly challenge. Ha

  6. GenuinRisk says:

Today’s challenges are crap and with deservedly crappy points….perhaps the dude in Bungie assigned with challenges is on vacation…

Neways, looking forward to the new weekly challenge.

  7. michael says:

I am definately looking forward to the new weekly challenge! I really, really hope it has something to do with the campaign. I have went through the campaign 3 different times on normal, heroic and legendary. Ive done the campaign so much that i dont really want to go back through it unless a challenge calls for it. For example, i know alot of people wouldnt really like doing it but kinda like that one challenge they had a while back where you had to go through 9 campaign missions on heroic in one week. Personally i would like that better than having a multiplayer matchmaking weekly challenge. Whatever it is i will probally only be working towards the weekly up until monday night at midnight, since that is when im picking up my copy of Bulletstorm. 😉
