4th March – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Sorry for the delay peeps, you may have read on Twitter it’s moving day for me so I’ve been loading a van all morning, but I’ll find time to fit you in for your fix of challengey goodness…

Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR

If you want to do this specifically (as you’ll probably getting it just playing for the others) then jump into something on Score Attack, maybe Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack or Fiesta Attack to get it done quickly and rack up the kills.

Helping Hand – Earn 10 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Note, this is not in 1 game, so I reckon just play as normal and you’ll get there. Grifball’s good for Assists, particularly on the bomb carrier. As ever with an assist challenge, tell your team you’re going for it, and if possible pair up with someone. In Sniper game types this is very powerful as you can try to both shoot the same person in the body and one of you should get an assist.

Twin Trips – Earn 2 Triple Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000 cR

For everyone who’s mentioned the lower credit returns lately – this was only 500 credits in December! Team SWAT is pretty good if you can get a team taken out in one (I enjoy Asylum and Sword Base for this). Equally, Multi Team’s a pretty good bet if you can come into a lot of people taking each other on – the objective modes of Oddball and Crazy King might do you well here, longer matches and a game type that forces people to group more. And of course there’s Grifball, which is just superb for getting your multikills in.

The Dream Shake – Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000 cR

4 isn’t too bad these days, Team SWAT works well, but Grifball probably works better for this one too. This is of course 4 Double Kills, not multikills, so getting a Triple Kill won’t count as two towards this.

Tomorrow’s might be a little late as well as I’ll be unpacking, setting up furniture, rearranging furniture, and putting out my book, DVD and CD collections. On Sunday I’m taking a break to have some fun so there will be a guest author bringing you the lowdown on the credit chase.

  2. Sumobot says:

Please dont run the bomb on griffball! You get alot more kills and people wont hate you

    • Tim Everitt says:

No doubt. Hold it for the first 2 rounds until sudden death expires. Then hold it until 30 seconds or less, run it in, in the last 3 rounds for the win. I’ve seen an average of 4K payout in cR, and of course 70-100 kills in a game.

  3. woohoo moving day! how exciting! i love moving but i really could do without all the packing and unpacking nonsense…

anywho, theoretically you could potentially get all these in one game of grifball. but why rush?

  4. Steve says:

Side note/question about using the checkpoint/locator on ONI for achievements like “Light Fare”. Against the “rules”? Any sort of danger of being labeled a cheater by Bungie?

    • Mike says:

heck no man! They do not have anything checking to see if you’re using the target locator trick.

I’ve literally done it more than a few thousand times in a row, and nobody sent me a letter or anything saying that I was a wrongdoer.
