9th March – Reach Daily Challenges Commentary

Another mix before we hit Firefight Thursday and Multiplayer MFriday, and a nice return on credits too…

More Than a Handful – Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

Multi Team Battle is the best way to get lots and lots of kills, you tend to get more than any other mode. If you play Crazy King or Oddball you can get even more as some people who would shoot you go for the objective, and you can take them out. Seasoned Grifball players will also be able to get this in only a couple of games, assuming no one scores the points very quickly.

Take a Dip – Kill 150 enemies on Waterfront in Firefight Matchmaking – 1125 cR

A brand new challenge, but really similar to yesterday’s 100 on Waterfront. Two rounds through Gruntpocalypse or Score Attack will see you get this quickly. Beware the Suicide Grunts (there should be a spoof series of pictures based on the Suicide Girls), and the snipers on the cliff.

Return of the Mack – Kill 50 Elites in Campaign today on Normal or harder – 1700 cR

ONI: Sword Base has been the best for this in the past. Just playing through there are 30-40 I think, and it’s definitely worth using the target designator at the beginning. Basically run from the start up the ramp to your right and take out the Elite at the top. Then hug the wall all the was to where the TD is, grab it, turn around and fire it back up to the top of the slope. Then take out the few guys around you and go back up the slope to mop up anyone who survived. You’ll get 4-5 Elites a time, but it takes about a minute and gives you loads of medals and kills, so well worth it. If you’re playing through, still stick to ONI Sword Base, especially from Rally Point Bravo inside the base itself.

Single Wield – Earn 40 kills with small arms weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1300 cR

Team SWAT – Magnums will be a good way of doing this. The Plasma Pistol also counts as Small Arms, so think about using that to take guys down, it’s good for stripping away shields, but the Magnum is better for unshielded guys. Infection might be good too – you can snipe the zombies using your pistol and get a few kills that way, esp in Cage, Courtyard  or Pinnacle where you can see Zs coming.

If you have questions or your own methods for achieving these please add them to the comments.

I received a credit ban yesterday for my controller sitting idle to long in grifball which was about 3 games anyone who how long that lasts and what all is taken away

    • bungiesgirl says:

It’s normally 2 weeks during which you cannot get any credits for any online activties. I’m surprised that you havent had a warning though; the general approach is to send a warning, and then ban…

    • Chris says:

“my controller sitting idle to long in grifball ” what mischievous plan were you hatching with said controller ?

At least you haven’t told anyone that you have been branded a cheat …. and will forever have to hang your head in shame 🙂 , oh no hang on a minute you already have doh !!!!!

The world of gaming is no place for a cheat and scoundrel like yourself , you should look to a career in investment banking.

      Have a nice Day .

Wonder why they have 2 Waterfront Firefight challenges back to back? I know Waterfront is the last Firefight map i would pick so maybe they are trying to get more people to play it? Oh well, easy challenges though. As you stated above Matthew Team Swat is the best way to go for the small arms kills. My son loves Team Swat so i will let him get this one. Well good luck everyone and have a great day!

  3. Trayer says:

Been playing Firefight so much lately that the idea of 40 Swat kills seems a bit out of … Reach.

  4. James says:

For the 50 elite kills i did Nightfall. Start at the beginning and as soon as you get to the first elite that you have to assasinate, kill him and revert to last save. It will take you back were your right behind him. It took me less than 5 minutes to get the 50 kills.

    • Kurt says:

Worked great, thanks! I feel like I’m using Nightfall lately, but its working for lots of challenges. Couldn’t believe the weekly could be done even quicker than this, but that worked too.

    • Rob says:

      completed in in 46 seconds.

  6. MJOLNIR Tester says:

Long Night of Solace from Rally Point Bravo is good for fragging Elites if you are bored with the Target Designator trick on ONI: Sword Base. Plus you get a cool cutscene at the end.
