Covenant-cide – Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR

So you could do this in one game of Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack or some of the other variants. Why am I going for Gruntpoc as the best option? Because it’s got easy enemies to take out and a really quick game type to play through (and given the next challenge you can get a couple together). Definitely get into Outpost to do this at the same time as the next challenge.

Going Outpost-al – Kill 125 enemies on Outpost on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR

125 is just evil, as you get 120 in a Gruntpocalypse type game, so this leaves you just short when trying via Score Attack. If you can get Firefight Arcade with only one or two players you should make this, but perhaps the best advice I can give is to play Outpost on Score Attack, get as many as you can, then get a Generator Defense type of game going to get your last few you might need.

Roast ’em, Toast ’em – Kill 35 enemies while jet-packing in Exodus on Normal – 1500 cR

It’s been almost 2 months since we saw this challenge, which is a shame because it can be good fun. Go to Rally Point Alpha of Exodus where you’re given a jet-pack and hop over to the platform. You need to make sure you’re actively firing the jet-pack when you get the kill otherwise it doesn’t count. 10 should be pretty easy, you can snipe the Grunts and Jackals before actually making it to the platform so getting a few that way. There was a good suggestion from Turbo previously – pick up a Gravity Hammer from the Brute who runs at you, then hit fire and equipment at the same time when hitting someone.

Participation Counts – Complete 4 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1200 cR

Complete 4 games. Don’t drop out. Get to the end of each. Just play through them. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose. Sorry, I can’t drag out this explanation any further. Is there a way of doing this quickly? Infection is a very fast game type so you’ll probably get it done in 10 minutes using that, or Grifball if you want to just go after the bomb score.

Pretty easy today, so you can get these through in 30 minutes or so hopefully.

  1. Covenant-cide – Kill 120 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR
  2. Going Outpost-al – Kill 125 enemies on Outpost on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR
  3. Roast ’em, Toast ’em – Kill 35 enemies while jet-packing in Exodus on Normal – 1500 cR

Wow…These are pretty much self explanatory. I guess Bungie decided to give us some easy daily challenges today so we would have time to get the hard weekly done. lol! If you can get Halo Ball or Halo Ball Xtreme in Action Sack it goes pretty fast for the Multiplayer game challenge. In 2X Score Attack i have been able to get 129 kills in 1 game before, i just dont remember what map it was on. Just remember on Outpost sometimes they drop a Ghost or 2 so try to get to them and take them out for a couple extra kills. Good luck everyone! 🙂

    • Tim Everitt says:

If I recall correctly, it might be Beachhead. 24 in each wave, 2 Pods at 4 each, then a Wraith, for a total of 129.

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Your probably right, i play Beachhead a lot more than any other FF map.

  2. Hierakles says:

When you start at Rally point Alpha for Roast ’em, there should be a gun rack with some DMRs and a shotgun nearby. You can use the shotgun if you don’t want/cant get the gravhammer for whatever reason, and on normal you should be able to do some quick hops, one shitting any brutes infront of you. Also, don’t forget your grenades! Toss one then fly as it’s just about to go off and you can easily get double/triple kills with it.

    • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

I for one love to one shit Brutes! lol!

      • Chris says:

        I beg your pardon ?!?!? 🙂

      • Clone 066 says:

For The 35 aren’t rockets available?..

Was thinking same thing, I was just scared to post.

        …Checkpoint reverting anyone?

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

@Chris, He said do some quick hops, one shitting any Brutes in front of you. I just thought the typing error was funny! 😉

  3. Clone 066 says:

For The 35 aren’t rockets available?..

    …Checkpoint reverting anyone?

    • Scruff UK says:

Yep. Swap weapons with one of the dudes on the balcony to get rockets, jetpack across, hit the lower shelf full of grunts and then reload the checkpoint. Should only take 5 minutes, if that 🙂

125 kills on Outpost is mean 😦 I got it through luck though, having one game of 2x Score Attack followed by a Crashsite. If that option doesn’t come up for you on your second game, you could always just do a ‘normal’ second game, and then repeatedly die once you’ve got your 125 kills…

    • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Well Clone i did what you said and i only had to revert 4 times. This is definately the way to go if you want to get it done fast since after the jump with the jet pack there are a lot of grunts and jackals piled up together. Nice.

  4. Braythor says:

I always grab the rocket launcher off the guy shooting at the banshees (he’s a crap shot anyway) then go nuts at the grunts and jackals, DMR the remainders then back to rockets for the brutes.

Overall not bad challenges. Still haven’t done the weekly; been too busy with the Gears beta. Finally got around to getting a headset today though so looking forward to seeing how that works with both games…

    • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Ive been playing the Beta a lot here lately too. Im about burned out on it though. I hope the CTL game next week is as fun as i hope it will be. I suck at the Beta about as much as i do at Reach. 😦

      • Braythor says:

Haha, yeah I’m not great either, keep getting massacred. Hooked up with a couple of people from another forum though that seem ok (not necessarily good players but in it for fun rather than winning) so that should help improve things…time will tell. If you’ve no objections I’ll drop you an add, then if you want to join in we can all suck at the game together 🙂

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Ok. My son is on more than i am so if you send a message or something and i dont get back its because its my son. He would play with you too and of course he is a hell of a lot better at that than me.

Day after day Matthew gives us a great space where we can share our ideas, thughts and even feelings. I’ve been following this site since many months ago. My main goal was to get 100% armory and commendations. Now I’m myself Mythic rank. And I realized the road is just too long for me (92% armory and 77% commendations). So I’m quitting Halo Reach. Before I do that, I wanted to thank you Matthew for your time, dedication and amazing job! It was funny and useful, specially in the LASO challenges.
Keep it up and have a nice life!
Sorry for my english, it isn’t my native language.

    • Matthew Vose says:

Cheers man, that’s a really nice sentiment, and makes it all worthwhile. Take care, and hope we see you online in some other game.

    • Chris says:

Very nicely put …… just when you start to think the world is full of as*holes

Have a nice life to you too Sir

      regards
      cjc

Unfortunately I will still be contributing nothing of any value again tomorrow ….. sorry
