Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1350 cR

You’ve got a few choices for doing this really easily and quickly…

  • Forge – make a game with players spawning in one spot and camp it
  • Firefight – Download my Firefight Invincible game type on my File Share, lots of Elites, lots of medals, lots of kills
  • ONI: Sword Base – Use the Target Designator trick (run past everyone at the beginning, grab it, turn around, fire, wait for the killing to stop and restart the checkpoint)
  • Package – There are points where you can get a checkpoint just before a number of Grunts appear in the final battle, so you can gun them down and restart

No ‘I’ in Team – Earn 6 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1500 cR

6 assists in a game might be difficult depending on your game type. Rumble Pit is a good place to do this. If you’re able to team up with someone then Multi-Team is good for it too. And Grifball can be good if it goes on for long enough. Try actually hitting people with the hammer instead of the ground for damage without a kill.

Came From Behind – Perform 3 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1200 cR

3 assassinations in one game can be tricky. A good new option is Hockey, in the Action Sack Community game types. Assassination is the best kill method although remember that everyone else will be doing this too probably! If you’re lucky you’ll find someone who’s AFK and you can hunt them down during the match.  It’s cheap but knowing spawn points can help you in regular multiplayer games – the rocks in Asylum for instance, or favourite camping positions like the lofts in Cage and Pinnacle or the lift in Reflection. Another good tactic is Sniper and DMR game types, since people can’t see their motion trackers when zoomed in you might be able to sneak up on them. Don’t forget that reloading and sprinting make noise so people know you’re there. Anyone who has watched the Halo Reach Mythbusters series will know that assassinating someone on a moving platform, and sometimes on unusual terrain, does not trigger the animation but counts, so that could be useful (I know I’ve been assassinated on the ramp on Pinnacle but the animation didn’t play).

Participation Counts – Complete 4 games in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1200 cR

Complete 4 games. Don’t drop out. Get to the end of each. Just play through them. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose. Sorry, I can’t drag out this explanation any further. Is there a way of doing this quickly? Infection is a very fast game type so you’ll probably get it done in 10 minutes using that, or Grifball if you want to just go after the bomb score.

And there’s your lot. Enjoy your Saturday!

Six assists isn’t all that easy; especially for the cR payout offered today. As Matthew says, rumble pit is where I will be for this one. One method that has helped me get assists in the past: use the assault rifle (yeah, the weak and clumsy assault rifle) to spray your enemy with a half a clip or a bit less. Then back off and let some swoop in for the kill. The assualt rifle is quick enough to land several shots in short succession, but weak enough not to make the kills (if you are careful).

    • John says:

I find multi-team and crazy king are a breeze for assists, I’d been struggling to get this last time so dropped into Crazy King on a recommendation here and ended up with 18 assists in the first game. The assault rifle, grenades and lots of people running to the same spot makes for a ripe hunting ground for assists.

      • Scruff UK says:

Rumble Pit is absolutely the best for assists. I got it in my first game in there, on Sword Base, mainly by throwing four grenades up the grav-lift with every chance I got (the two grenades you spawn with, then the two just down the corridor in the computer room). Well easy.

Failing that, you can get them easily in Hockey by running backwards and unloading your assault rifle into people, and hoping someone then assassinates them.

    • Pit Stains says:

I got it in one multi-team… 6 assist is very easy.

Just spray and pray with the AR at everyone you see. Obviously, don’t kill them, and as soon as you see the shield break start shooting someone else.

  2. Brad Murphy says:

I just want to thank you for doing this. you make other people’s lives that much easier.

  3. Westsideoc says:

    Hey what is ur gamertag

  4. michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

3 more multiplayer challenges… I was hoping for some FF challenges today dang it. I guess i will start on New Alexandria LASO today. A few weeks ago i started on Exodus the weekend before it came out and got over half way through it and finished it on monday and it counted. Well everyone have a great day!

    • Tim Everitt says:

You’re like a boy scout; always prepared.

    • Zerrick says:

I’ve been tempted to do this in the past, but what if we get a challenge like get 20 headshots on Nightfall? Would you skip it or restart your LASO efforts after completing the daily?

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

If it does happen i will probably finish the LASO challenge then do the daily. When i did the L.N.O.S challenge a couple weeks ago i started it early and that monday before the challenge we had a daily that was kill 200 enemies with precision weapons in the campaign today. I spent most of the day finishing the weekly then did the daily. I really hope this doesnt happen. If something like this does happen, i think if you start a campaign mission that you dont want to overwrite you can join a friends campaign mission to get a daily done and it doesnt effect you single player game save. But like i said i think this works.lol. I could be wrong.

  5. Collinnn says:

I found that multi team is the best for the assists and assasinations. Got both of mine in one match of crazy king 😀

  6. Austin says:

If you’ve done the other challenges and want to quickly top off your 180 kills for today’s “any game mode” challenge, try FF Grunt Grind — based on Matthew’s excellent “Firefight Invincible” variant. 100% grunts at 10% health + needler with bottomless clip = one-hit-kills as fast as the enemies can spawn. (The needles track enemies like an aimbot, except that it’s perfectly legal this way.) On Corvette, you can get 180 kills in 3-4 minutes.

  7. EyeOhYou (Andrew) says:

Go hockey all the way for the assist and assassination challenge. I personally was able to score 3 assassinations in under 2 minutes and 8 assists all in one game of hockey. Now I get to chose my favorite game type to knock out the games played challenge. Then I’ll probably hop into a score attack for the kills challenge.

    Goodluck everyone!

  8. Steve says:

I went multi-team for the assists and I got it in the first game, just spam everyone with the assault rifle.

  9. Lehite says:

    Mulit team for assists.

  10. N.V. says:

Yayhay, thankies for today’s strategies. These are my bits of advice for people who want alternatives. =)

Team Slayer for Assists, common to get an assist if you stick to using the assault rifle.

I found that for Assassinations, a cheap strategy is to go on Crazy King and, because everyone’s running to one direction and mostly not caring about other players until they reach the zone, it’s easy to sprint up behind someone on their way to the zone and assassinate them. Most players will already be at/around the zone, so there’s no one to interrupt or steal the kill. I know it’s a cheap strategy, but it’s there if you’re having a hard time to get this one. Recommended map is Sword Base.

By the time you’ve done the above two challenges you’ve probably already got the ‘complete 4 matches’ challenge done.

If you haven’t done 180 kills by this time, just get the “1 million points in 10 min” custom map for Firefight. It sets you as invincible, and the bonus rounds are fun with *lots* of enemies. Easy. Or, to combat the weekly challenge at the same time, get the “Endure: The Return” custom map instead. Enemies aren’t as quick to spawn, but it’s two birds with one stone.

  11. Shane says:

6 assists: Multi-team, sprint up and punch, run away, gravy.
