Today’s challenges are listed below, click Read More to view the commentaries:

  1. Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR
  2. The Little Guys – Kill 75 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder – 1000 cR
  3. Points Pyramid – Score 25,000 points on any Campaign mission – 1500 cR
  4. Cannon Fodder – Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today – 1250 cR

Commentay follows after the break…

Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR

If you want to do this specifically (as you’ll probably getting it just playing for the other challenges) then jump into something on Score Attack, maybe Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack or Fiesta Attack to get it done quickly and rack up the kills.

The Little Guys – Kill 75 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder – 1000 cR

Winter Contingency, Exodus or The Package are excellent for Grunts – read through this post for more information on them. The opening of ONI Sword Base has one useful trick – go straight to the Target Designator, turn around and blast some Grunts, then reset to checkpoint. It’s a quick way of doing it, although I prefer playing through levels to up various commendations. Ryan suggested something similar on The Package, throwing a grenade just before the checkpoint so that every time you reset it goes off and takes out a few Grunts. ONI: Sword Base can also be good by just taking out the few who are in front of you at the start then restarting the mission.

Points Pyramid – Score 25,000 points on any Campaign mission – 1500 cR

Same advice as I always give here – Long Night of Solace, Rally Point Alpha. You’ll be going into the space combat, with as many skulls on as you’re comfortable with. Last time I used Black Eye, Tough Luck, Catch, Cloud, Famine and Thunderstom. That gives you a 6.80 multiplier. After 8 minutes in the combat I had 45,000 points. Note that the Phantoms don’t give you points for destroying, so go after Banshees and Seraphs first. I played it on Normal, as there’s no need to make it any harder.

Cannon Fodder – Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today – 1250 cR

Winter Contingency should give you over 50, assuming you clear out all areas when in the truck, and take out the Grunts when defending marines, and die having taken out all enemies in the courtyard at the start of Rally Point Bravo and do it twice. I think Tip of the Spear will give you enough infantry enemies through the whole mission, but it is a long mission that has a lot of potential for death and delay. Your other option is either the checkpoint respawn in the end of The Package, and use the Target Designator on ONI Sword Base – run straight to where it is, ignoring all enemies, grab it, turn around and blast the grunts. Then respawn to the checkpoint or restart mission to do it again.

  1. Sergeant Jinto says:

An alternate option for Points Pyramid, especially if you want to boost your vehicle kills in Campaign is New Alexandria. Just ignore Kat and fly your Falcon around killing Banshees and Phantoms as you see fit.

  2. Volantdreadknux says:

Awe yeah first coment, why are the weekend challenges so much easier than the ones during the week?

    • Volantdreadknux says:

      Damn second comment

    • Sergeant Jinto says:

Probably because they want to give us the opportunity to focus on the Weekly Challenge if we haven’t finished it yet rather than focus all our attention on harder Daily Challenges.

  3. porottaja says:

    Grunts = infantry-class foes, am I correct?

So basically two almost identical challenges.

    • Sir Galahad 63 says:

You will easily get 3 challenges just killing 100 grunts…

    • hoellenhamster says:

More like three almost identical challenges. o.O

    • Sergeant Jinto says:

Not all Grunts are infantry class though, only the ones with Plasma Pistols and possibly the ones with Needlers. The Fuel Rod Grunts are Specialist class and the white ones with helmets are Leader class.

  4. Shane says:

Long Night of Solace, Rally Point Alpha as Matthew always suggests, then The Package, Rally Point Bravo and 13 quick reloads. Less than 15 minutes for 4 challenges including the little wait in LNOS.

    • Tom says:

Yeah, I got it just as quick, but I used the Target Designator instead of The Package.

The three challenges, plus two gold commendations I got during the target designator part earned my a handy 7000+ cR for 5-10 minutes of work.

  5. mickoboy90 says:

For grunts,do the target locator trick, but for points,u could get it in under a minute..start pillar of autumn on normal, with 3-5 skulls, and get onto cannon and destroy phantoms..each should give u about 5000 points…thats how ive done my weekly get 88 000 points..good luck

  6. John says:

How often can you get the daily super jackpots? I assume by the name it’s once every 24 hours but like the other weekend I’ve not managed to get it more than once.

Finally made it to Field Marshall last night but I suspect that’s as far as I’ll get, the progress bar is now moving incredibly slowly and the rank predictor reckons it’s 58 days before I rank up again.

    • wbs Skatanic says:

Woah, where’s this Rank Predictor? That sounds quite ingenious lol

      • Sergeant Jinto says:

It’s a free iPod app called “Reach Stats.” At least, that’s the one that I use anyway.

      • John says:

The one I’m using is on Android and called ‘Reach Service Record’, it’s not as pretty as some of the others and doesn’t have the daily challenges but it has an impressive amount of stats and analysis. According to the application:

Average credits per day – 12103 (since 16th September)
Average credits per hour – 9652
Average challenge completion 10.44 per week
        Hero – 58 days
        Legend – 132 days
        Mythic – 219 days
Noble – 330 days (just under a year!)
        Eclipse – 454 days
        Nova – 661 days
        Forerunner – 826 days
        Reclaimer – 1115 days
        Inheritor – 1404 days

So short of playing the game a lot more per day or the challenges increasing the credits a fair bit I doubt I’ll be going much further.

      • Sir Galahad 63 says:

I use reach stats on my iPod too, that’s how I came across a fantastic website called “Reach Daily Challenges”. Fantastic 🙂

    • Edward (GT: Marshy 40) says:

Neat. Says I’ll get my next rank in 9 days or 17 hours of play. The latter is probably more correct, as the credit average is the overall average, not the “latest” average.

  7. Jeff says:

When you do LNOS from rally point Alpha with some skulls on, once you’re done in space, you just end your game?

  8. Scruff UK says:

15 minutes on my current Campaign commendation farming gets me 3 daily challenges and maxes out the pistol kills. Awesome 🙂

  9. Mizzou says:

Does anyone know if the campaign challenges can be completed during co-op campaign mode?

    • usually they can. i almost never do them because of lagtastic co-op sessions on my end but typically it’s okay. 🙂 (unless the challenge says “SOLO” somewhere in it.)

    • HoodedSandman says:

Yes you can (if it does not say anything about solo as SnickerDoodle mention)but it will take a bit longer since you have to share the enimies. The LNOS spacefigth did not give enough points (on normal all skulls) for both of us so we continued to the end.

  10. biodrumr says:

Oni Sword Base and LNoS. All 4 complete in under 10 minutes of game time.

  11. OMGBBQWTFLOL says:

Might try the 25,000 points with the weekly. I was doing the weekly with 3 friends a few days ago and I lagged out on the last wave of enemies defending (I was pretty angry). But I know that the entire part with the tank my friend racked up like 70k points or so with the huge multiplier. If each of the people doing LASO with you takes turns in the tank getting 20k+ points, you can all get the few thousand remaining defending the lab. Or just let whoever doesn’t take the tank use banshees for defending the lab, either way can easily rack up the 25k daily while working on the weekly tonight.

The other 3 dailies just used Package RP Bravo with the grunt checkpoint, took me just under 2 minutes of game time (since I already had the checkpoint set up).

I’d really like to see a solid weekly tomorrow that will actually take some solid time for a really nice payout. Past 4 days daily challenges have been cake, and the last weekly (77 revenges) was easily done in less than 10 games of Grifball for me and not a huge payout.

  12. smashingrascal says:

This was way to easy I did it in 7 minutes. Go put all skulls on in LNoS at rally point alpha and did it in 4.5 minutes. first wave of banshees and 1 seraph. quickly change to rally point brave on the package for the ,remaining 3 and repeatedly kill the grunt from the first drop in 2.5 minutes. and that was right after i started the game.
