Commentary follows after the break…

One Spartan Army – Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Normally I’d recommend a quick Score Attack game type (Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack etc), but if you’re going after the next challenge then I’d target that first, since you might have to do a couple of Firefight Arcade rounds to get it, which should see you most if not all of the way to this one. If you need to top up the kill volume then as always just jump into Generator Defense or Crashsite.

Support Structure – Earn 30 assists in Firefight Matchmaking – 2250 cR

Assists are slightly harder on Firefight I think (you have to deal 40% damage and someone else kills them within 4 seconds). My recommendation is to play Courtyard, as you tend to stick together in the entrance to the spawn room so you’re more likely to help assist and get assists from your team mates, whereas you spread out on other maps. Particularly the Brutes and Elites are easiest to get this on, and communicate with your team that you’re doing this so they can get the kills and you get the assists.

Points Pyramid – Score 25,000 points on any Campaign mission – 1500 cR

Long Night of Solace, Rally Point Alpha. You’ll be going into the space combat, with as many skulls on as you’re comfortable with. Last time I used Black Eye, Tough Luck, Catch, Cloud, Famine and Thunderstom. That gives you a 6.80 multiplier. After 8 minutes in the combat I had 45,000 points. Note that the Phantoms don’t give you points for destroying, so go after Banshees and Seraphs first. I played it on Normal, as there’s no need to make it any harder.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution – Earn 5 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1250 cR

EOD weapons include: Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Spartan Laser, Plasma Launcher, and the Concussion Rifle. The very best mode for this is now DinoBlasters, found in the Action Sack game types. You’re given a Concussion Rifle with an unlimited clip, so 5 kills should be really simple.

Two notices today – there’s a call for Party Leaders for tomorrow’s game night (and for regular PLs going forward too), check out the Game Night hub page to see which groups you might want to play. And please do let us know in the Game Night comments which party you’re going to be joining – if we don’t get interest in one then we’ll not have it running, and whose fault will that be huh?? 🙂

As ever if you have your own thoughts for these challenges please put them in the comments.

: URGENT: Friend getting married in london tomorrow & photog just cancelled! . Anyone free & interested? Pls RT

I hate getting assists so i’m going to skip that one. The other ones should be easy 🙂
Plus in the 4th challenge you put 3 kills should be simple instead of 5 😛

  2. Scruff UK says:

Cheap FF assists – try and get a Sniperfight game on the go, and go to one of the many ‘safe’ hiding places (Glacier and Beachhead spring to mind) and pop body shots into everything you see. In the case of Elites and Brute Chieftains, hit them until their shields go down. Then leave them, and hope your buddies finish them off for you. This would be made considerably easier with a partner who knows what to expect though! If your team-mates force you into Rocketfight or FRGfight then just aim for the floor relatively near the enemies. Hopefully you’ll get some assists out of it.

Splockets and Rocket CTF (both also in Action Sack) are also excellent for the EOD challenge 🙂

  3. CrestOfFire says:

You’ve said ‘3 kills should be really simple’. Isn’t the challenge for 5 kills?

  4. DBD AceRay says:

ASSISTS!? Yuck! I might try for it since it pays the most but if it takes too long I’ll just play Defiant map pack with my DBD buddies.

  5. Matthew Vose says:

*mumble grumble* I bet you wouldn’t have pointed out a mistake when Snickerdoodle does it *mumble mumble*

But thanks guys, at least now I know two people actually read the commentaries!

  6. Braythor says:

Arcadefight for assists, ideally on a smaller map like Corvette or Courtyard. Just stick close to other players and fire bursts of the assault rifle at enemies, chances are someone else will finish them off. Elites are best as you know when their shields are stripped.

  7. Myuyum says:

Can you complete the objective then quit the mission/game in progress ? I mean as long as you got the ‘mission completed’ sentence on your screen the points are given right, you are not supposed to wait for the end of the game or mission ?

    • Scruff UK says:

You mean the Campaign points challenge? You are correct. As soon as the challenge registers as complete you can quit out 🙂

    • DBD AceRay says:

To Myuyum: yeah you can quit a game once you get the challenge

  8. Zukiter says:

You can put every skull on except Blind and play Long Night of Solace, Rally Point Alpha on Normal and it’s still cake; more points, faster.

    • Sean says:

That’s what I do – though I play on heroic. With 7 or 8 skulls it takes maybe 10 mins to hit 25K. I probably won’t try for the assist challenge – it feels counter-productive having a challenge to NOT kill enemies.

  9. Sergeant Jinto says:

Points Pyramid was a simple one for me today. Got it while working on this week’s LASO challenge. When you get to the part where you’re at the “Boneyard” level of multiplayer and get up inside the decommissioned ship, there are two Spartan Lasers (one on the ground, one up in the ship) and a Sniper Rifle. Plenty of high-point targets to take out with hardly any danger to you. Voila, 25,000 points!

  10. KnightBugg says:

For the campaign you can also do new alexandria on heroic and put on skulls that have no effect on you while flying and then just hunt down banshess and cruise ships. SHould on take like 10 mins if that.

  11. mickoboy90 says:

my best option for campaign challenge,go to co-op,pillar of autumn rally point bravo, kill zealots and use canon to get points…activate about 3-5 skulls and you get 5k for each phantom 🙂

    • Matthew Vose says:

I tried this once, but you have to get through the whole Holdout firefight first, which is much slower and trickier than the LNoS route (and even slower than New Alexandria).

      • mickoboy90 says:

but i would preffer that way because if you do LNoS in co-op,there is possibility that you wont get points..and i play with my brother on same xbox all the time..and even better if you have 4 players co-op, then you can take turns each on the cannon 🙂

      • ❓ i don’t get how you would NOT get points in LNoS….? i’m pretty sure i could get at least 1,000 points playing with my feet! 😕

  12. KDA Talkie says:

For the assists challenge, grab a friend and play Doubles Attack…the only map is Unearthed and both of you just need to stay in the spawn room and keep firing at the door…you should both get this this challenge in 2 (maybe 3) games

  13. michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

For the assist challenge i think Doubles Attack is a good call. I will probably get my son or girlfriend to help me. The best time to get assists in 2x Score Attack is when the Elites come out. As someone stated above, just shoot at them til their shields pop and have your teammate ready to finish them off. Easily done in 1 or 2 games. Good luck! 😉

    • Corporal Alexei says:

Lol….I have tried like hell to get my wife to play Reach (or CE, H2, H3 or ODST), but her and my daughter are all wrapped up in playing the one hundreth coming of Mario on Wii….what’s your secret?! 🙂

      • t-rOY says:

I’m just lucky my wife loves Halo more than I do. dunno what advice to give you. Maybe you could have them play the Firefight Invincible game type to get them hooked. My wife and I were considering this idea to get our not-so-Halo-enthused friends to join in on Reach. Right now they’re all about Kinect games, and their son is the Halo-addict.

  14. Colossalslayer says:

OMG the laso weekly is so hard does any1 know a fast way to get it?

  15. SnuK evoX says:

VERY easy way to get assists is to play Nadefight and use the EMP. I got the challenge in one game.

  16. Colossalslayer says:

whats every1s rank on reach im a general grade 4 i need 53k mre until field marshal
