  4. You Want This, Don’t You? – Earn 10 kills with Precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1250 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

Fire When Ready – Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1500 cR

This is over any number of games, so no stress to push for it at once. 50 should only take a few games though, Grifball and Multi-Team Battle are particularly good for getting a high number of kills in any one game, especially the objective based Crazy King and Oddball variants.

Be Their Huckleberry – Kill 50 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Pistol – 1000 cR

Try and get a Gruntpocalypse game in so you can stick to just the pistol, take out the little methane breathers as quick as possible with the Pistol then switch to DMR to continue your headshot chase. Some maps are definitely better than others, Corvette and Courtyard are small and easy to see across to take them out. I personally think Holdout’s an evil little map, although that’s when it introduces the tougher enemies in Score Attack.

Pod Kettle Black – Kill 10 Elite Drop Pods in the Long Night of Solace – 1000 cR

Right… this is NOT trying to destroy drop pods in the ground based combat. This is when you play Long Night of Solace from Rally Point Alpha and you’re in the space combat section. After the first section defending the station, you take on a Covvie Corvette. That Corvette launches fighters at you. At the same time, it also launches 6 pods (2 groups of 3) from the bottom of the ship towards the planet. You can see them streak away. You can’t target them with missiles, and you have to be close to shoot them, but those are the Elite Drop Pods. It registers your kills after each wave have disappeared (entered Reach’s atmosphere). So go into that bit of the mission and fly beneath the corvette taking out all the pods you can and you’ll get it easy.

You Want This, Don’t You? – Earn 10 kills with Precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1250 cR

This is fairly easy in Team SWAT. Precision weapons are the DMR, Sniper Rifle, Needle Rifle and Focus Rifle. So in SWAT you can easily kit up the DMR and just play the game.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is Bungie Day, when we’ll also be having our regular Game Night, but formed of squads of 4 (with RDC used as the service tag so people know which community we’re from). Visit our roll call page and let everyone know when you’ll be on so we can add you to the table of who’s on when for squad formations.

You might also have seen that the Xbox Support Twitter team are having a community playdate, Saturday July 9th from 9pm EST. Let me know in the comments if you’re interested in setting some squads up to join them too, I might be staying up late just to play with (and against) those very very helpful guys.

I’m down for a couple hours vs the Twitter team.

    • gans42 says:

HC i have no clue who the twitter team is, but you can call on me if you want someone to help you hand them their asses, just send me a message on live

      • HC Sangheili says:

Good deal gans. I should be on shortly before 9pm EDT Saturday.

      • Matthew Vose says:

After tomorrow I might put together a little thing about the Twitter team night, so we can list people again. I’ll put you two on there fellas. 🙂

  2. Meeeeeee too….I have a bone (or 12) to pick with them….

    • Matthew Vose says:

Oh Snickerdoodle, if you turn up in a team against the Xbox Twitter people and they won’t care about k/d, the win, or anyone else. You’ll just have a big target on you 😉

      • Chris (Insanity Boy) says:

Well mabye if she didn’t go for the Rocket Launcher so much… 😉

  3. Scruff UK says:

Given that Campaign gives pretty much nothing for ‘game completion’ cR, and that I’ve already maxed everything I can get from LNOS, and that there’s a massive unskippable cut-scene in the middle of the space combat… the Campaign challenge can go die.

All the others, however, are more than welcome 😉

Need to get another 30,000-40,000 cR today to be able to rank up tomorrow 😕

    • Woody says:

I definitely agree with you on the campaign challenge.

      • SlimEel94 says:

I think more than 1000 cR may have swayed me, but to have to re-do the same point 2 or 3 times for about 3000-5000 cR after killing everything in sight doesn’t really sell it. Oh well, one more game of Rumble Pit and the rest are done!

      • Matthew Vose says:

You don’t have to redo the point, the drop pods keep coming from the corvette during that whole section of the mission.

    • gans42 says:

well if you get the bonus super jackpot you should easily reach that mark. twice this week already i got the 30k jackpot (the 2 days i played more than 2 games lol…it took me like 4-7 games to get it). though i dont think it goes on games payed, just increases your chances the more you play

      • Scruff UK says:

Problem is.. I already hit the Super Jackpot today 😕 Oh well, I guess it’s only like 15 games, I’m sure I can squeeze ’em in somewhere today 🙂

      • gans42 says:

well if you need someone to play with that isnt a whiny 12 year old a racist, or some other prick you are prone to find online send me a message and ill be glad to play. always looking for more good people to play halo with. i would especially like to play swat

      • Macomud says:

        @Scruff UK

I hit the Super Jackpot today also… only after about 4 games 😀
I needed 47,000cR till Legend so that helped a lot and I managed to rank up.

Oh, and thanks for the commentary Vose 😉

  4. Scruff UK says:

Predictions for tomorrow’s Bungie Day Daily Challenges?

    I expect:
    – Linktacular (pretty much a given, I think)
    – Kill [x] enemies in MM

    I would like:
    – Play against a Bungie team in MM
    – Win against a Bungie team in MM
    – Steak a Bungie team in MM

And all cR values should be 777; 7,777; and maybe even a 77,777 for steaking them 😉

    • Paul says:

How about Covenant revenge for todays Pot Kettle Black challenge:
Death from above – get killed 5 times by an Elite dropship.

This happened to me on Unearthed last night – search films on bungie.net for “death by dropship” tag to witness the strangest way I’ve ever died (so far)

  5. Woody says:

You all with have to excuse my lack of knowledge, but I was wondering is there some sort of badge or way of knowing that you’re playing with or against a Bungie employee? Twice, I was lucky enough to be on the same team as some guy in grifball, who was so good that he scored very quickly in each round we played. The guy scored so quick that my only kill(s) came when everyone goes charging for the ball in the middle… and this was each time.

    • gans42 says:

there will be a special bungie playlist tomorrow, the opposing team will be bungie teams

      • Scruff UK says:

Not necessarily they won’t. 999 times out of 1000 your team of 4 will face off against another team of 4 also trying to play against Bungie. There will be one Bungie team on at once – vs. about 5000 teams of other people trying to play them at the same time.

The only surefire way to know that it’s Bungie (tomorrow at least) is to have a look in advance at their team rosters, which hadn’t yet been posted last time I looked. Failing that they’re all going to be Inheritors (or close to it) and will almost certainly be wearing the Haunted Helmet. This was much easier before they gave away the blue flames and Bungie nameplate 😕

Also I hate those guys in Grifball. Probably wasn’t a Bungie employee, was probably just some jerk who doesn’t understand how to play Grifball properly! 😉

      • gans42 says:

didnt think of that, though they prob wont all be inheritors, if you ever look at their humpday postgame stats, they generally arent ranked that high (but obviously, dont let that fool you). are teams being put together to take down bungie tomorrow?

    • Woody says:

There are times when I like quicks, like when you have to get some extreme amount amount of wins for a daily or weekly challenge. In yesterday’s case, I was wanting to get a few kills under my belt in hope of improving my K/D ratio.

      • Matthew Vose says:

But other people were probably going for the three wins challenge (I think I did recommend scoring quickly in GB).

      • Scruff UK says:

Oh yeah, forgot that was yesterday. That would explain it then. I stay well clear of Grifball on days when that challenge is up and go for SWAT instead. Short games that are actually fun! 😉

    • SensoryFour34 says:

It probably wasn’t Bungie then. I played a game of Grifball where I was sure they were Bungie because they were in the same party as a Forerunner with 100% armory completion. In that game, they didn’t score until the last second of Sudden Death and just murdered the other team. I posted a video in my file share if you want to see.

  6. Vast Archangel says:

excellent work yet again. if u dont mind me asking, how do u come up with these tips Vose?

    • Matthew Vose says:

Because I’m a goddamn genius. And I know Halo. And we had the PKB challenge back in November.

And what’s with people calling me Vose these days??

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Wow Matthew. As long as i have been coming here i have never seen that kind of language come from you.lol.

      • Matthew Vose says:

That’s a sign you’ve never played with us on Game Night. The blog is a family friendly place, I’m 18 rated however (NC-17 might explain that better).

      • michael (DR HIGGLESTEIN) says:

Thats true. Im going to try to get in on the Thursday game night if there is any room.

      • Scruff UK says:

Also goddamn is considered a proper swear word in the USA and it isn’t here – observe the hilarity of various music videos showing the singer not say the word ‘goddamn’ even though the song clearly does. Panic At The Disco spring to mind.

Also, yes, game nights. They’re just regular streams of f-words, really 😉

      • Why Scruff, I have NO idea what you’re talking about… 😉

  7. Cpool07 says:

Does it matter what difficulty you do the “Pod Kettle Black” challenge on?

    • Brady Cook says:

No as long as its normal or higher, i did it on legendary and had no problems
