  1. Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR
  2. Demon – Kill 40 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1400 cR
  3. L.D. ONI – Complete ONI, without dying, on Legendary with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt and Tough Luck on – 5000 cR
  4. Not as Clumsy or Random… – Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR

If you want to do this specifically (as you’ll probably getting it just playing for the other challenges) then jump into something on Score Attack, maybe Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack or Fiesta Attack to get it done quickly and rack up the kills.

Demon – Kill 40 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1400 cR

Rocketfight’s usually a good one here, especially since they often up the amount of Elites you get, particularly in the Bonus Round. Fiesta Attack gave a lot more Elites than I’d seen before, but only about 25, and I think there are about 25 in 2x Score Attack too.

L.D. ONI – Complete ONI, without dying, on Legendary with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt and Tough Luck on – 5000 cR

As ever my advice is to read through the details on the LASO Weekly Challenge for this level, plus the Mythic guide by Tyrant, as the challenge itself is pretty close to LASO. If you die, save and quit immediately, then go back into the game to be back at your last checkpoint.

Not as Clumsy or Random… – Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

Jump into a Team SWAT match, take out some guys and it’s an easy top up of 1000 credits. Precision weapons are the DMR, Focus Rifle, Needle Rifle and Sniper Rifle.

    this is about the weekly, i saw some people talking about the weekly on yesterdays post, but i figured id post here because more people are more likely to see it.

    people were talking about doing doubles over arcade for the weekly, i just wanna tell people to be careful with this because it takes a lot longer to get through the waves with half the people, so even though you are competing with less people for kills, you are less guarnteed to make it past the 3rd round. also the games will most likely take longer, so even though you play the same amount of games, each game is longer

      I think you’re better posting on the weekly but I’d agree in many cases four player Arcade when you’re trying to get through waves quickly is a better way of doing it. However in favour of doubles there’s a better chance of getting a solid connection, I was playing Firefight Arcade earlier where it was massively lagging which is not much fun, if you go with a small map like Corvette and paired up with a decent player you can still get through Doubles quickly. With the new time limit I think it’s a lot easier with two as I almost finished Glacier entirely on my own.

        i posted here because i figured more people were likely to read this post and not reread the weekly post from monday. and yeah smaller maps are easy (especially in arcade, rocket, and FRG variants). for the most part its possible to finish, but i was just saying its a safer bet to do it in arcade (though if i only get 2 rounds in a doubles it gives me a good excuse to play a game of score attack, so im not complaining)

        Doubles Arcade; normally there really isn’t enough time to complete the 3 rounds unless both players grab a rocket launcher or FRG and go to town. Or, as John said, you play on a small map.

        Playing this last night in a local game, I had a sniper rifle and my friend had a needler/FRG. He was holding much of the aggression while I was using camo and sniping. I think we got to the 4th wave of the 3rd round (farthest we’ve advanced). We tend to play on Beachhead or Overlook only though so that could be part of the issue too.

        I think the bottleneck with Doubles for most people come during the wave of Elites with human weapons. They can be hard to take down quickly.

        Only times I recall finishing a Doubles Arcade is: 1) I’m playing with a suicidal player that pays for kills with deaths; 2) playing on the Corvette map; 3) one time on Courtyard – this player had the covenant all running to him in lines. With a snipe rifle, he was getting multi-kills almost every shot. He was doing something to manipulate the game.

        Anyway. again as John mentioned, I’d rather play Doubles. Yeah it is not the most efficient push to the weekly goal, but there are fewer connectivity problems than 4 player FF and it’s a bit more fun than 75 games of solo score attack.

        The key with doubles I think is that you need to know roughly where the spawns are and have each player split so they can nail the enemies the moment they appear. With phantoms it’s a bit easier as each player can take a phantom and blow away the enemies as they drop in.

        I prefer the rocket loadout as you get sprint and you can normally get a fuel rod gun off the first wave, that means for the spawn waves you can blow away the first group with rockets and sprint onto the second to obliterate them with the fuel rod cannon without wasting time for a reload. This is particularly crucial for the Elite round as even on mythic the pair of rockets or five fuel rod shots will take out each spawn group before they can get properly going at which point they’re going to take far longer and likely to get a fair few Spartan kills before they all go down.

        Because there’s a bit more strategy to it I enjoy playing the doubles version plus it’s such a pain in the neck when you’ve got a laggy Arcade game and your rockets are going all over the place.

        @Nisama: That guy wasn’t doing anything to manipulate the game. In Firefight, usually one player gets singled out (I’ve heard people call him “the marked man”). All the drop pod enemies and most others will horde towards that player, turning away during the brief periods where the player dies. Sure, the covenant still go for other players but they concentrate on that one. Don’t ask me why; it makes for frustrating games when you have four white drop-pod Elites bearing down on you as well as the Elite rocket carriers but maybe it made the AI easier to program.

        Rocket Fight + lag = accidental suicides.

        @HC Sangheili: I’m the same but I’ve only got the Perfection and Grounded (:-() commendations left so Firefight Arcade’s better for the former and Firefight Limited / Score Attack for the latter. I usually tend towards Arcade since it’s fun when there’s no AFKers. The other worst commendation to get was Trigger Happy for sure although Arcade made that much easier. The Grounded commendation is ridiculous.

        Well that certainly would help to explain it. I’d pop an Elite’s shields; he’d yell; throw a grenade; I’d dodge and get back into position to see him darting up a ramp toward the other player…

        I can say that game session did wonders for my Perfection (+3) and Assist (+40ish) commendations though 🙂

      Oh wow… you’re right! I didn’t think about that. Now that you mention it, I do remember playing along with my girlfriend’s son and we never made it to the bonus round. Nine times out of ten, we would end the match in the middle of the third round.

      An additional perspective/reason I’d like to provide dealing with Doubles Attack is the commendation aspect. (I agree with all points related to easier to get through the Rounds for the weekly with 4 player Arcade). If you’re a player that doesn’t go after commendations, then this really wouldn’t apply and you are free to ignore.

      I’ll use Trigger Happy (small arms Magnum and Plasma Pistol) and Backup (assists).

      Score Attack – Pro: only myself so I can attack all enemies with the Pistol
      Con: one round for 125 Kills max; no option for assists

      Doubles – Pro: only 1 other player I need to coordinate with for small arms, which work well for their follow up take down shot giving me the assist; up to 3 rounds with loads of enemies per wave, in increasing difficulty but predictible locations
      Con: with the introduction of Elites with Spartan weapons (AR, DMR) and the other wave of Heavy Weapon Elites (Rocket, Grenade, Sniper), it makes getting through the round with perfection, and further getting to the final wave of the final round very challenging

      Arcade – Pro: none for commendations, unless I play with 3 others I can communicate what I’m attempting to do.
      Con: Nearly impossible to match with randoms, choose arcade fight, and have them not use the FRG or Rocket Launcher

      That’s specifically from a commendation perspective, and further related to just those 2. It would vary slightly based on the type of commendation one is striving to attain.

      My thought about a weekly of 75 Score Attack, 50 Doubles, 25 Arcade is really about the amount of time that will already be allotted to the match. If I’m already going to be spending 15 to 20 minutes (10-15 for Score Attack), (not counting the wait for match, vote No twice, stuck with Glacier and 2 players that sit on top of the tower, and another that gets pissed because it wasn’t sniperfight and quits) I will make the best use of that time and work towards the commendations.

      The priority for me is stat improvements, commendation building, with weekly’s such as these an added bonus. Come on now, I average 7000cR per over 15 minute Arcadefight match.

        I didn’t mention it in my post but this is my thought as well going into any FF. I much prefer a game where you can work on any and everything instead of only the “Get Loud” commendation. I hate rocket fight or Doubles/Arcade games where all you see and hear are FRG and rocket shells everywhere.

        @Shane-maybe the ‘marked man’ is the one with the best connection for the game?

        -Another gametype that’s helps with trigger happy is 2x score attack. If there’s a FF pistol challenge, that’s the first gametype I look for…along with an Elite challenge (looping back to today’s post) =).

    Fiesta Attack and 2x Score Attack should both give around 25-28 Elites which makes them pretty good for it although I’ve been sticking with arcadefight (as you can have both the FRG and rocket launcher) for the weekly and easily finished my Elite quota.

    I dont know what it is but im having alot of trouble with the L.D. Oni challenge. I beat this mission on LASO but for some reason its rough today. I just cant seem to get through the first part. LoL. Oh well, maybe it will get easier after the beginning. Good luck!

    Don’t know what it is about the ONI level, but it is always fun to play. Maybe it’s because you actually feel like you’re defending Reach and human assets instead of seemingly running around the planet haphazardly engaging forces.

    Some advise for the ONI challenge, watch speedrun vids on YouTube (think it was RC master) but those can be helpful 🙂 Also, if you die, carry on until the rocket bit at the end, then save and quit and resume campaign, saves the effort of doing that alot when you could just do it once at the end 🙂 hope this helps 🙂

    Go to hell bungie!!!! A measly 500 credits for doing a daily challenge that is close to being LASO/Mythic difficulty? The hell with that? Whoever is thinking up these daily challenges needs to be shot!
