  3. Demon – Kill 50 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR
  4. Cannon Fodder – Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today – 1250 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1350 cR

Well the other challenges require at least 250 kills, but if you’re going for just this challenge you’ve got a few choices for doing this really easily and quickly…

  • Forge – make a game with players spawning in one spot and camp it
  • Firefight – Download my Firefight Invincible game type on my File Share, lots of Elites, lots of medals, lots of kills
  • ONI: Sword Base – Use the Target Designator trick (run past everyone at the beginning, grab it, turn around, fire, wait for the killing to stop and restart the checkpoint)
  • Package – There are points where you can get a checkpoint just before a number of Grunts appear in the final battle, so you can gun them down and restart

Short, Controlled Bursts – Kill 200 enemies with automatic weapons in the Campaign today – 1500 cR

Automatic weapons are those that fire repeatedly, namely the Assault Rifle, Plasma Repeater, Plasma Rifle, Needler and Spiker. In Campaign you want a mission with lots and lots of enemies quickly, and for today with lots of infantry foes. As usual, Winter Contingency’s a good one as it’s not too hard, and the enemies come quickly, particularly the first fight with Skirmishers and Grunts, or Rally Point Bravo with the courtyard fight. Stick to Normal difficulty so you don’t have to spend too long. There are tricks in some places like Rally Point Bravo on The Package where you can get a checkpoint just before a group of Grunts so you can take out 5 quickly, then restart checkpoint and do it again.

Demon – Kill 50 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Rocketfight’s usually a good one here, especially since they often up the amount of Elites you get, particularly in the Bonus Round. Fiesta Attack gave a lot more Elites than I’d seen before, but only about 25, and I think there are about 25 in 2x Score Attack too, so two games should give you all the Elites you need.

Cannon Fodder – Kill 100 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today – 1250 cR

Try and get these with an Automatic weapon to help the second challenge today. Winter Contingency should give you over 50, assuming you clear out all areas when in the truck, and take out the Grunts when defending marines, and die having taken out all enemies in the courtyard at the start of Rally Point Bravo and do it twice (or just keep restarting that section). I think Tip of the Spear will give you enough infantry enemies through the whole mission, but it is a long mission that has a lot of potential for death and delay.

The tournament semi-final listings are now up, go check them out and if you’re listed then please sort out a play time some point this week.

Wow; three of these daily challenges can be done in one go. Needler + Nightfall + sleeping grunt on the forklift bridge + checkpoint = all the challenges except for Demon. Blimey. That’ll be the extent of my Halo today. No MM challenges so I may as well keep going with the sheer unadulterated joy of Lego Batman 😀

Also, thinking of you today New Yorkers. ❤

      Happy 11/9 aniversary!
Ok that was bad I’m sorry 😦

    • gans42 says:

9/11 affected more than just new yorkers, but thanks scruff!

      • Scruff 815 says:

I know, but I didn’t know where to draw the line. Eastern seaboard? The whole USA? The world? So I just went with NY because that’s where it happened. The sentiment still applies to anyone affected by it, regardless of location.

      • gans42 says:

i figured you did, but just to be on the safe side I figured it couldnt hurt to point out it affected all americans (though obviously new yorkers more than others), and not necessarily pointing it out to you, but to readers here in general). I personally live in NJ, so it well enough hit close to home, so i appreciate the kind wishes.

Yeah, kind of simple challenges, but then again 2 of them cover commendations I need to work on in campaign, so at least it is not a huge wast of time.

  3. DeadSpartanwalking says:

Scruff, you forgot D.C. and the plane that didnt make it’s target thanks to passengers on flight 93

    • Scruff 815 says:

REALLY? I didn’t forget. I made a generalised comment in the spirit of being nice. Let’s not nitpick about the details. I was being nice. That is all. Goodbye.

Thanks, Scruff for the sentiment. It’s amazing how even 10 years later i can still feel the emotions of the aftermath. This truly was the first time an event of this nature was caught on camera as the events unfolded. So, in essence, the world watched it together. We’re all involved…so to speak. What a day. Thanks again…

Easy, easy challenges today. This only means i will be playing some multiplayer madness when i get home tonight. Only after i watch the series final episode of ‘Entourage’. 😦 Damn, i will miss that show. Good luck to all today, on and off the field.

  5. Thanks Scruff for the kind words. I remember only being a little 2nd grader, not having any idea as to what was happening, only seeing pictures of a burning building and my parents crying. It’s amazing, as you grow up, how much you realize how cruel the world can be sometimes…

Anyways, to the challenges! Pretty easy, if I do say so myself! Unfortunately, I have a bunch of homework I have to do, and chores to finish, so I won’t be playing much! 😛 For some reason, yesterday I would get 10 (and frequently more) headshots in a game, and the challenge wouldn’t come up as completed 😦

Hey, when I put my USB in my Xbox and copy a Reach campaign save to my USB, what does it look like in my computer?
