Commentary follows after the break…

More than a Handful – Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

Multi Team Battle or Grifball are the best ways to get lots and lots of kills, you tend to get more than any other modes. If you play Crazy King or Oddball you can get even more as some people who would shoot you go for the objective, and you can take them out. Seasoned Grifball players will also be able to get this in only a game or two, and if you can make an area in an Infection game defensible as a human you can rack up kills quickly.

Survivor – Earn 5 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game – 2000 cR

You get 120 kills in Gruntpoc so it’s an easy way to do it. If you can get kills using weapons (ie 5 grenade sticks, a shotgun, sniper rifle etc) then you get nearer the total – use Score Attack to get a range of weapons. Beachhead is quite good as you can use the vehicles to get more sprees – and now on Firefight Arcade you’ve got a good chance of using a variety of weapons, lots of killing sprees and grenades and the like. I like hitting up Gruntpoc then getting the 5 killing sprees.

The Little Guys – Kill 125 Grunts in Campaign today on Normal or harder – 2000 cR

Winter Contingency, Exodus or The Package are excellent for Grunts.  The opening of ONI Sword Base has one useful trick – go straight to the Target Designator, turn around and blast some Grunts, then reset to checkpoint. It’s a quick way of doing it, although I prefer playing through levels to up various commendations. Ryan suggested something similar on The Package, throwing a grenade just before the checkpoint so that every time you reset it goes off and takes out a few Grunts. ONI: Sword Base can also be good by just taking out the few who are in front of you at the start then restarting the mission, but if you go for the TD you get lots of big commendations too.

Headshot Honcho – Kill 9 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2160 cR

Team SWAT every time for this. It’s in one game, but in SWAT you should easily get this number of headshots. If you’re not confident in your ability then perhaps try voting for an objective SWAT game, like Stockpile or 3 Plots, since there’s no kill volume target in them which should help you.

Whew, nothing hard, hopefully my Russian project doesnt take THAT long so I can get 3 of these and the weekly, a game of firefight, game of swat, and a campaign farm for like 3 minutes and the weekly will be mine.

    • John says:

Just trying to get my weekly done as well before back to Geaers although I’m concerned that there’s so few people online, just 14,000 overall and 225 in Griffball.

      • Scruff 815 says:

Well it is like 3am on the West Coast. This is always the quietest time of day for it. For a game that’s over a year old, 14,000 people online at that time is amazing. I couldn’t get a game of Cloning Clyde on less than a month after the thing came out!

      • John says:

It’s usually quite a bit more even this time of day and while I appreciate the game was always going to die down at some point it’s still depressing to see.

How is GOW3 so far? I have to wait til the weekend to receive my copy, since mine was ordered online. Even then, the “warden” may keep me from enjoying it the way I want.

      • SensoryFour34 says:

It’s really good, except to get an achievement, you have to get a kill with every Locust in Beast Mode, and the Wild Ticker is nearly impossible! It doesn’t explode, and it’s just too weak! Other than that, It’s amazing!

    • Braythor says:

Yeah these aren’t too bad, might do a couple. I did all 4 on Monday so no hurry for he weekly.

Woody, Gears is AWESOME. I turned it on at 3pm yesterday, turned it off at gone midnight (did have a brief pause for dinner). I’m so much better at Gears than Reach, and had a lot of fun dominating most matches. The only ‘meh’ bit so far is Beast mode; once you unlock the berserker (which I did on round 4 of 12) it becomes ridiculously easy. Not tried it coop though…

      • Shane says:

        🙂 Mine’s in the post. It’ll be a productive weekend :-/.

  2. Scruff 815 says:

The 125 kills in MM might be a bit too much of a grind for me to have time for today… But the other three are done, and so is the weekly. And my rank progress bar barely moved! Huzzah! 😀

  3. HC Sangheili says:

Not too much of a grind. BTB is the recent obsession. Gotta work those vehicle commendations up.

  4. Woody says:

Woohoo! Easy challenges, good daily payouts and a completed weekly challenge equals a very good day in Reach.

  5. lolGTFOplz says:

going to get at least 2 done today. got the grunt one over night. Got to go to the stores tonight to get stuff for the new apartment i’m moving into on the 1st. got some big news as of recently and its turning my whole world around. good luck everyone.

    • Woody says:

I’m going to do two challenges also, just to complete the weekly and then have some make up time in other games, since I accidently fell asleep right after I had left your party yesterday. Lol

      • lolGTFOplz says:

Ha, yeah i seen you sign off and then never came back on, i was like, the warden must be home. lol i guess i was wrong

      • Woody says:

Yeah, Mondays and Tuesdays, I’m usually warden-free. I was already sleepy when I had joined you and once I left, the next thing I remember was waking up to David Letterman talking to Paula Abdul. LoL

      • lolGTFOplz says:

lol! that’s funny, because the last thing i remember BEFORE i fell asleep was David Letterman coming on, and me thinking how much i dont enjoy the show. lol

  6. JustHawkeye says:

Did anyone else get an update for for reach today? It didn’t seem to change anything. Maybe it’s a prep for the major TU.

    • lolGTFOplz says:

I recieved said update, and was wondering the same thing.

      • Scruff 815 says:

Changes come in early October, and those changes are primarily the addition of a ‘beta’ playlist to test out some of the new changes. All the info is in the latest update from 343i 🙂

      • lolGTFOplz says:

        Thanks Scruff

  7. Halo Social says:

Hey guys, come check out this new and awesome forum for a halo social (hence the name). http://s4.zetaboards.com/Halo_Social/index/

Many of the members here on RDC are members on HS as well (hooray for double dipping). Anyways, this forum is a great place to come and talk about anything and everything halo (except challenges, we leave that to good ol’ Matthew here on RDC because he does a splendid job). Come check out the site, if you like what you see, register. Please use your GT, or name you post on here at RDC, as your account. If not, our moderators may not know who is signing up, and we surely don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun!

    • 'Cos says:

Awesome site! Now i have two…

Easy challenges…easy credits! But is there anyone still playing? More credits for me. Yeah.

  8. Knocked out yesterday’s FF headshot challenge in a game of Gruntpoc on Outpost and Skirmageddon on Corvette. Both finished before time ran out and without dying!

Best place for Grunts on Outpost, if anyone doesn’t know is at the top of the stairs on the roof of the main building between the cannons. Good sight of the enemies on that side, and the rest will come up the stairs to catch a bullet. Maybe you’ll have to run to the other side of the roof to pop a few to get them to come up, but other than that just sit there. I’d say pick the jet pack loadout, because the ammo crate is on the ground just below you, and when you take out a wave you can drop down and jet back up quickly, but I did it with sprint.

Skirmishers on Corvette are almost the same; just used the little dead end hallways at the back of the platform. Best trick I found is to grab a needle rifle when you get a chance, and you’ll never have to run for ammo, since they keep bringing more. Man, there were a lot of dead bodies outside that doorway!

Only did 3 challenges yesterday, because there is no way I’ll ever get a running riot in MM, but still made about 14k cR.

  9. Brook Harris says:

I see They’ve raised the Credit Volume quite a bit. What a coincidence, I need 125 more to Max out The Commendation Cannon Fodder (Kill 20,000 Infantry-Class units In Campaign) and I was thinking about it yesterday ‘What if the Challenge ‘The little Guys’ come up tomorrow’-and just look at the Challenges today it has : )

  10. Noobwarrior523 says:

I’m really upset, I got swatpile on zealot just to have my team suck……I had to cap every flag, and get 3 in there about 5 times, take out the whole enemy base and come back with last flag, there’s only one/ zero flags in the cap zone……i mean really? And I got a triple kill a couple times storming the base too…….

  11. Jesse says:

    Where is snickerdoodle these days??
