2nd October – Halo Reach Daily Challenges & Commentary

Today’s challenges are listed below:

  1. One Spartan Army – Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 2000 cR
  2. This is my Rifle… – Earn 40 kills with precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2600 cR
  3. Overlook’s Overwatch – Kill 125 enemies on Overlook in Firefight Matchmaking – 2200 cR
  4. Five-time Champ – Win 5 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 4343 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

One Spartan Army – Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 2000 cR

You get 120 Grunts in Gruntpocalypse, about 100 enemies in Score Attack and something like 330 in a Firefight Matchmaking game (although split between up to 4 people). There was a great comment a while ago (sorry I can’t remember who said it) that if you need to ‘top up’ your FF kills, jump into a game of Generator Defense or Crashsite and once you have your kills give up the defense. That’s a great idea in situations like this. For today jump through 2x Score Attack on Overlook to try for the other FF challenge then return to this as necessary.

This is my Rifle… – Earn 40 kills with precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2600 cR

Precision weapons are the DMR, Sniper Rifle, Focus Beam and Needle Rifle. Team SWAT will do you well here. Unless you use melee or Pistol every kill will be a precision weapon kill, so play it a few times, try and get a good team who will cover your back (and you theirs), and just do this over 2 or 3 games. It’s a good chance to finish off your weekly challenge if you haven’t got it yet.

Overlook’s Overwatch – Kill 125 enemies on Overlook in Firefight Matchmaking – 2200 cR

Best way is to get a 2X Score Attack game type on Overlook, since you’ve got a good chance of getting more than 125 enemies in that game. We always have debates on these turning up when it’s map specific, some people so them appear a lot less, so as soon as you’re offered Overlook pick something, and do it twice (especially Crashsite or Generator Defense) if you need to top up.

Five-time Champ – Win 5 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 4343 cR

Team Slayer and SWAT will be excellent for this, as there are only two teams so a much better chance of winning than in multi team. If you are doing Multi Team, try objective based types and go for the objective itself, most teams don’t. I mean Crazy King, Oddball, Rocket Race. Grifball can be good if you’re ready to grab the bomb and score you can win really quickly, but with the weekly being what it is, stick to SWAT for those precision kills.

I’ll attempt to do these, but free time is short today. If I’m on and anyone wants to do Doubles for the FF ones (thereby getting them in one game), then join me 😀

If you included a cR total for the 4 Daily’s, that’d be awesome!

  3. Noobwarrior523 says:

Won’t have much spare time today, if I do get on I will get the firefight ones done though.

  4. Mister X says:

2 games of swat, 3 of infection and one CrashSite and i’m done .

Time to grind today. These and the game completion cR plus the weekly should get me close to mythic.

Its such a shame that I haven’t been able to play for almost a week now. I am missing such easy credits!

  7. Brian says:

    I ❤ swat 😀

ya know, after you get 100% completion in the armory..what are you supposed to do with all the credits? I think 343 needs to update their armory catalog with the latest and greatest 2011 toys, just to keep entertained.
How about some “gold” plated armor? Maybe red or orange, or some cool chrome looking visor colors?
I’m sitting on about 500K of credits, with nothing to spend it on. And I’m in a spending mood! 🙂

I’m at 94%. I hope they add some new stuff, black armor. Maybe when Halo CE anniversary releases…
