Halo Reach Weekly Challenge & Commentary – w/c 7th November

This week’s challenge is below, click Read More to view the commentary:

Dedication/Time – Complete 10 Daily Challenges this week – 30,000 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

Well this is more welcome thank a LASO or an epic Revenge medal chase. What are the quick and easy ways to get 10 daily challenges? My best recommendation is to get them as quickly as possible, in case they start making every day’s challenges all LD or something. Of course I’ll have information up every day on how to get them quickly, so you can use that if you’re stuck.

And if you see anyone on Monday or Tuesday with the Weekly Challenge complete then you know they’re cheating!!

If you want to know how to get notifications of these challenge commentaries it’s easy… you can follow on Twitter, join the Facebook group or just subscribe to the site using the email option on the right to receive the challenges and a link to the commentary straight into your inbox.

Easy weekly for a great payout. This is a weekly that both me and my gf can do without any complications 🙂 (aka i dont have to help her lol)

  2. crazybydefault says:

Here’s to hoping they don’t make every challenge an LD challenge 😛

  3. Dragao1010 AKA: Brian says:

just 10? Now imagine it was “Complete all daily challenges this week” – 90000 cR <— would be legit but oh well i'm not complaining. Now eagerly awaiting the 150 waves of firefight weekly 😀

  4. Scruff 815 says:

Hurrah! My favourite Weekly challenge returns; though 10 is a little low. 20 would be much better. 4 down already; thanks Braythor and Yellow 😀

Blimey, this is the last Weekly I’m going to post this on…

THIS THURSDAY, THE 10TH OF NOVEMBER, IS CUSTOMS NIGHT!

Join me (Scruff 815) and gans42 on Thursday November 10th from 8pm UK time onwards (which will be 3pm Eastern; see http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html for other places) for an evening of Custom Games. We’ll be playing the best maps and game variants currently out there, along with some home-baked creations from various RDC & Halo Social community members. If you’ve got a map or a game variant to share with the world, this is the time to do it. But please try and have it support 16 people, just in case.

Simply add one or both of us to your friends list, fire up Reach on the 10th, and hit X to join us. With no customs matchmaking search tools, we are entirely limited to the people who show up. No people = no game night. Try and have a mic if possible, don’t go AFK, and don’t rage-quit in the middle of a game when you’re doing badly / you don’t like the game mode and we’ll all get along just fine 😀

    PS: 17th November = CE:A Game Night

WARNING!!! The following is a public service announcement to all players of Halo: Reach that frequent this website.

This particular weekly challenge is completed mid-game. In other words, you are awarded the weekly credits for completing the 10th daily challenge for the week DURING the match as opposed to AFTER the summary screen of credits earned at the end of a match.

“Why is this a matter of concern?” you may ask. It is because of the last time we had this same weekly challenge in September (payout was 25k credits back then). You might remember the challenge Matthew presented on Firefight Thursday (9/22) for that week where the goal was to get all of the daily challenges in a single match (9,200 credits total).

There were a handful of people that completed that unique challenge. A couple happened to also satisfy the weekly challenge requirements in the same match. They inadvertently made an unfortunate discovery. The maximum bonus credits you may earn during a single match as a result of completing challenges is 32,767 credits! The “bucket” for the bonus value slot is limited to a binary size of 15 ones.

Given that the payout this week is 30k credits, the danger of missing out on some deserved credits is almost a given. Basically, proper planning is required. Make certain your 10th daily challenge for this week will happen in its own match and is not worth more than 2,767 credits.

    Happy credit earning, everyone!

Thank you Dogmeat, i had completely forgotten about that, and i am glad you have such a great memory because i probably would have gotten screwed over for cR and we all know we need every drop out of that tap!

    • Dogmeat says:

Now wait just a minute…it appears that the weekly is worth only 25k!? Was the payout reduced sometime today? Or does Matthew have a typo of 30k? I am fairly certain that I saw 30k under the challenges section of my profile on Bungie’s website earlier this morning.

If the first scenario was the case, perhaps 343i realized what was going to happen and made an adjustment to avoid irate players. Nevertheless, there is a little more breathing room with only 25k for the weekly challenge. Just make sure you don’t complete daily challenges amounting to more than 7,767 credits in a single match.

      • TheSletchman says:

I remember it originally saying 30k (I checked it at 8pm when it had 7 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 30 seconds to go), so I’m guessing that 343i reduced the payout to its original value (likely for the same reason that Bungie set it at that value to begin with).

      • TheSletchman says:

Urg… I meant 6 days. I blame my phone for that typo.

  7. Shane says:

Argh! Yesterday I had 3 daily challenges completed for the weekly. Today, I have… 1?
