26th November – Halo Reach Daily Challenges & Commentary

Anniversary Legendary = Done.

Look Out For The Little Guys = Rahhhhh!!

I did it. I swear I didn’t kill a Grunt. But that bleep bloop didn’t appear. So… obviously I did kill one. Turns out it is just the opening escape from the control room that’s hardest, once through that there aren’t many Grunts and most can be avoided. So later today I’ll be running through Two Betrayals. Again.

Today’s challenges are:

  1. Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 3000 cR
  2. Not as Clumsy or Random – Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2000 cR
  3. Stronger, Harder – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Famine, Tough Luck, and Thunderstorm on – 4000 cR
  4. Came from Behind – Perform 2 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2200 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 3000 cR

If you want to do this specifically (as you’ll get it just playing for the other challenges) then jump into something on Score Attack, maybe Gruntpocalypse, 2X Score Attack or Fiesta Attack to get it done quickly and rack up the kills.

Not as Clumsy or Random – Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2000 cR

Jump into a Team SWAT match, take out some guys and it’s an easy top up of 2000 credits. Precision weapons are the DMR, Focus Rifle, Needle Rifle and Sniper Rifle.

Stronger, Harder – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Famine, Tough Luck, and Thunderstorm on – 4000 cR

Finally a better credit return for this challenge. I’m giving exactly the same advice as every optional Campaign mission challenge – run Nightfall, get this done in 10 minutes, tops. As a guide to Nightfall speed run I’ve picked this video off Youtube randomly, but there are hundreds like it. In fact we have further options and details on the time we did it in LASO on this Weekly Challenge page and comments. There are other levels you may be more familiar with, but honestly, you can do this in 5-6 minutes with minimal stress.

Came from Behind – Perform 2 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2200 cR

Not too difficult, easy methods are just to hide around a corner in Sword Base or somewhere and jump guys as they go past. If you’re lucky you’ll find someone who’s AFK and hunt them down during the match.  It’s cheap but knowing spawn points can help you in regular multiplayer games – the rocks in Asylum for instance, or favourite camping positions like the lofts in Cage and Pinnacle or the stairs in Reflection. HaloBall Extreme is great for assassinations since you have a big map you’re running around like crazy people on! Another good tactic is Sniper and DMR game types, since people can’t see their motion trackers when zoomed in you might be able to sneak up on them. Don’t forget that reloading and sprinting make noise so people know you’re there.

Congrats for the completion. Make sure you enter the Terminal codes into Waypoint for the 7K cR bonus each 😉

I didn’t know about this until just now. Thanks for getting me through Brigadier Grade 1 😀

Nice one, I hadn’t heard about it either, I’ll post some instructions on the main blog tomorrow, for everyone reading this:

Go to Waypoint on your Xbox console, press X when you’re in, then press the colour buttons corresponding to those on screen. The use the console to enter the codes at the end of the terminal videos (or use this image I found on Google), when you enter all ten you also get terminal 11.

I’m reading that you have to have actually found the ten terminals for it all to work, but they’re incredibly easy to find. I recommend Achievement Hunter’s videos on Anniversary if you need help, it also shows the Skull locations.

Post this question on the weekly thread as well.

Anyone notice the timer on Waypoint and b.net reflects an extra 7 days to complete the weekly of 50 wins?

Soo is halo.xbox.com down for anyone else? After 2 solid days of playing nothing but Anniversary to get that 1000/1000G got me a lot of cR to catch up to =P

Got 100.000 cR for that sweet deal with the Terminals, though. And that 11th secret Terminal. Awesome!
