8th January – Halo Reach Daily Challenges & Commentary

I’m even less likely to do Exodus than I am to do PoA. Do you think they’re infrequently played levels so 343i are trying to throw players at them more??

Today’s challenges are:

  1. One Spartan Army – Kill 250 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 3500 cR
  2. Hyper Lethal Vector – Kill 200 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking – 3000 cR
  3. More Like in Post – Kill 125 enemies on Outpost in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR
  4. L.D. Exodus – Complete Exodus, without dying, on Legendary with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck on – 5000 cR

Commentary follows after the break…

One Spartan Army – Kill 250 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 3500 cR

You get 120 Grunts in Gruntpocalypse, about 100 enemies in Score Attack, 120-135 in 2X SA, and something like 330 in a Firefight Matchmaking game (although split between up to 4 people). If you need to ‘top up’ your FF kills, jump into a game of Generator Defense or Crashsite and once you have your kills give up the defense. I reckon that two 2x Score Attacks should just about get you this (and the other challenges).

Hyper Lethal Vector – Kill 200 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking – 3000 cR

Gruntpocalypse and 2x Score Attack are great ways of doing this, you should be looking to get a lot of headshots in a game, especially if it’s on a simple map where you can line up the Grunts, like Corvette or Courtyard. If you get to a high number rather than doing a whole game again jump in Crashsite or Generator Defense and only defend until you have your total then give up the goal.

More Like in Post – Kill 125 enemies on Outpost in Firefight Matchmaking – 1100 cR

If you can go for 2X Score Attack, since you should get more than this total (just) in one game. But as with every map specific challenge, take what you can the first time you see it in Score Attack in case you don’t see it again!

L.D. Exodus – Complete Exodus, without dying, on Legendary with Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck on – 5000 cR

This shouldn’t be too bad, especially if you’ve done the LASO on Exodus previously. I’m not going to post it all here, but your two things to do are to follow Tyrant’s guide to playing it in Mythic, and read through the commentary and particularly comments for the weekly challenge to get further tips.

    Heyyyyy guys. World Records question….

Alright, I can’t find a single thing on the net about this. I’m hoping people know, is there a place where like, Halo: Reach world records might be tracked or anything? I think it would be really cool to see what the:

Most kills in Slayer/Swat/Etc game are
Fastest time a Score Attack/FF has been completed
    High scores for things
    Lowest scores recorded
    Fastest Campaign times, etc…

Am I the only one who thinks this shiz would be fun to read?

I agree with you, something weird about how they choose maps for ff challenges, I had one day where it didn’t matter what I did, I couldn’t get level necessary for chaenge to come up.Great post.

Unfortunately, Outpost doesn’t have drop pods, so you’re unlikely to manage 125 kills in one game of Score Attack 2x (or Fiesta Attack)–you’ll only get 120 enemies. You can also get 2 more kills by destroying the guns on the Phantoms in the last wave, and you might get lucky and have a Ghost drop for 2 more kills (vehicle and driver), but that’s pretty rare, and still only totals 124! I believe there’s a very small chance of 2 Ghosts dropping, in which case it would be theoretically possible (good luck!).

  4. FF doubles, Arcadefight on Outpost. Might take a few tries to get , but you’ll need more than one game total for the 250 kill challenge anyways. Take arcadefight on Outpost and if your partner quits more kills for you. Make some custom challenges the same as the dailies and you’re looking at an easy 40k.

Yeah, but waypoint’s credits haven’t been getting paid out for a few days now, before I really noticed I was out about 100,000cR

    L.D. Exodus??? Challenge Accepted >:)

Following Tyrant’s Mythic Guide one could utilize all the shortcut-paths to complete the level…besides it kinda brings some sense of satisfaction when the credits screen show up!

And if it gets too hard, Save and Quitting isn’t that much of an issue! Other than that, the FF challenges today seem kinda bland today…as I prefer the Demon, Blast Radius types!
